US winter wheat condition ratings, as of late February


The US Department of Agriculture overnight issued late-February ratings for the condition of the US winter wheat crop in most major growing states.


The table below lists the readings, in terms of the percentage of crop rated "good" or "excellent, plus gives their change on late January, and on year ago levels.


Crop condition improved over the month in most states, with Montana being a notable exception, reporting an increase in wheat sustaining "light" damage from wind or frost.

The USDA will on April 6 resume publishing weekly crop progress reports.
