A survey from Allendale Inc, a commodity broker and analytical firm, showed that US farmers are expected to plant around 94.631m acres of corn and 83.74m acres of soybeans this year.

This differs from the latest estimates from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), which forecast the corn acreage at 94m and the soybean planting area at 85m acres.

Allendale’s wheat plantings estimate also differs from the USDA’s forecast at 44.465m acres to 45m acres respectively. It projected US winter wheat at 30.914m acres, “other spring” wheat at 12.441m and durum plantings at 1.11m acres.
